I think Live/Dead is better than I gave it credit for in my review.
The Dark Star > St. Stephen > The Eleven is awesome.

I finished tracking the Relapse show from 2009-09-04.
The flac files have been uploaded to the ftp site.
I'm not going to convert them to mp3, so feel free to do so on your own.
I also uploaded setlists for whatever shows I've downloaded since August to the Tape Trading page.

I've been busy lately so I haven't gotten a chance to track the Relapse show from 2009-09-04 yet.
I'll try to track the show soon since it's already been a month and I know everyone but Phil wants to hear Tony the Tiger.
In the last month or so, I started climbing at Planet Granite.
I managed to make it up my first 5.10a climb yesterday.

I uploaded some new setlists. I'm working on my tapes from the NIN/JA show at Shoreline still.
I've heard at least two tapes that are way better than mine, so I probably won't torrent my recordings.
If people are interested, they can ask me for a BNP.
Beware of the screaming girl behind me during NIN and Jane's Addiction.
Luckily, she wasn't there during Street Sweeper Social Club's set.
I watched The Hangover
today after work with most of my co-workers.
It was pretty funny, but I didn't think it was as funny as people have told me it was.
I haven't posted much lately, if you want more updates than I give here, you can follow me on
twitter.

My motherboard was delivered at 8:43am this morning. Now I get to wait and see what ASUS does.
Here's my mini summary/review of all of the Grateful Dead albums that I wrote last summer.
There's not much review, but you can at least see what I thought of the album.
Here's the format:
=============================
box set Name, Artist, Year
=============================
Album Titile, Artist, Year (I just cut and pasted this info, obviously it's all the Dead)
if the disc is a compilation of live material, I marked it as <LIVE>
"Rating": maybe a quick comment about the album
Here's my "rating" scale. I wasn't really doing any direct
comparisons. Some of these comments I wrote a few days and/or albums
after I heard some of the previous albums I was reviewing, so the
ratings may be a little off, but here's a general guideline of what I
thought. I also tried not to take the bonus live and studio tracks into
account when I was reviewing the albums. The bonus tracks were often
better than the rest of the album was.
smokin / really good
good
pretty good
ok
terrible
At the end, are my recommendations if you want to pick up a few albums.
They're broken into a section for studio recordings and a section for
live recordings.

Workingman's Dead, Grateful Dead, 1970
eh, ok.
American Beauty, Grateful Dead, 1970
really good stuff with a few throw aways (1st or 2nd best)
Grateful Dead (AKA: Skull & Roses, AKA: Skullfuck), Grateful Dead, 1971 <LIVE>
good
Europe '72, Grateful Dead, 1972 <LIVE>
good
History Of The Grateful Dead, Vol. 1 (Bear's Choice), Grateful Dead, 1973 <LIVE>
pretty good
Wake Of The Flood, Grateful Dead, 1973

In The Dark, Grateful Dead, 1987
pretty good: better than the last few for sure
Built To Last, Grateful Dead, 1989
surprisingly good: I liked In the Dark better, but they're about the same.
=============================
Recommendations
Here are my "studio" album recommendations:
=============================
Anthem Of The Sun, Grateful Dead, 1968
American Beauty, Grateful Dead, 1970
Blues For Allah, Grateful Dead, 1975
The Grateful Dead, Grateful Dead, 1967
In The Dark, Grateful Dead, 1987
Built To Last, Grateful Dead, 1989
=============================
Live recommendations:
=============================
download a full show. Skip all of these. I prefer the feel of a full
show and not just a mishmash of songs put together on a disc.

I sent my motherboard to ASUS on Monday. Right now it's somewhere between Indianapolis, IN and Jeffersonville, IN.
Hopefully they'll get it and start processing it on Monday.
I'm hoping to get my replacement from them before the Left 4 Dead survival pack comes out.
If not, I'll have to play the update on my work laptop which isn't very good for gaming.
Looks like we're about to leave for Jessica's birthday dinner. Hope everyone has a fun weekend. Go Sharks.

I fixed some typos on the setlists page. Some have probably been there for awhile.
I'm still having computer problems. I think I've finally tracked it down to the motherboard.
I'll have to give ASUS a call later to see what their RMA process is.

I haven't been up to much lately. I broke my left pinky playing football the day of the Super Bowl. I just started to type with my pinky within the last week. It's surprising how much stuff you need your pinky for. My whole left hand was pretty much worthless for about a month. My friends and I went on a snowboard trip to Tahoe at the end of February, and I didn't even get to go boarding because I didn't want to hurt my hand more than it already was, so I just hung out in the cabin and drank for the weekend.
LivePhish.com has free mp3s of this past weekend's Phish comeback shows. Phish played 85 different songs over three nights. I listened to the first two nights so far, and they seemed pretty good for a group who hasn't played together for 5 years.

So my webhosting company has managed to screw up my links again.
My links have only been working this way for about a year. Check
1/23/2008's
entry if you don't believe me.
If they are still broken, let me know and I'll work on fixing them later.
My new computer has been having problems lately. I think there is a Ghost in the Machine.
It's working tonight, but I bet it will be down again tomorrow. It hasn't reliably worked since 12/24/2008.
